One of the greatest resources cancer patients and caregivers have at their disposal is a social worker. You can find social workers in hospitals, treatment centers and clinics. Social workers can:

 

• Access information to help you understand your diagnosis and treatment plan

• Educate you and teach you new coping skills

• Link you to essential resources* within the community

• Counsel you and your caregiver(s) if support and assistance is needed

 

* financial assistance, support groups, local organizations

 

We encourage you to seek the assistance of a social worker at your hospital, treatment center, oncologist offices and/or clinics, to support you and your need for resources in the Valley.
